BAR FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Yesterday, the Bar Foundation Board of Directors held its quarterly meeting at the law offices of Flaherty, Sensabaugh and Bonasso in Charleston. The fifteen member Board is a diverse group of judges and lawyers from all
parts of the state and all types of law practice.
Pictured above are, left to right, Secretary/Treasurer Steve White(Charleston), Independent Auditor Derek Godwin(Herman and Cormany) and Vice President Harry Hatfield(Madison), with the remaining Board members participating by conference call.
The major agenda item was the Independent Audit. In addition, the Board members reviewed the Internal Revenue Service Form 990. The audit report for the 2011-12 fiscal year was clean and unqualified with a small amount of excess revenues without considering the sale of a building in May and the second one in August during the current 2012-13 fiscal year.
The Board members also reviewed the financial report for the first five months of the fiscal year, made decisions regarding an Investment Fund policy, approved the members of the 2013 class of Bar Foundation Fellows and
considered the successful Lunch and Laughs with a Legal Legend event that occurred in November.

END OF YEAR CONTRIBUTIONS
Survey results show that approximately 30% of charitable contributions each year are made during the month of
December. Furthermore, more than 10% of all charitable contributions are made during the last three days of each
year.
If you are part of those significant percentages, please consider making a tax deductible contribution to the WV Bar Foundation so that the Board of Directors can increase its strong commitment to assisting those activities in the state that improve the administration of justice and the provision of legal services in the areas of child abuse and neglect prevention, civic and law related education and legal system scholarships.
You can easily make donations electronically on the Bar Foundation’s homepage on the new
website— www.wvbarfound.org  —-or send a check to WV Bar Foundation, P. O. Box 4845, Charleston, WV 25364.
Do it before December 31, 2012.
Thank You and Enjoy your Holiday Season!
