The WV Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors has set up an Endowment Fund to enhance its mission to improve the administration of justice and the provision of legal services to the citizens of the state. During its quarterly meeting on September 6, the Board approved the Fund in the initial amount of $500,000.
Pictured above is Secretary/Treasurer Steve White (Charleston) as he signs the check to implement the Endowment Fund. A Board committee consisting of Ancil Ramey (Charleston), Jodie Boylen (Parkersburg) and Secretary/Treasurer White will recommend policies for the operation of the Fund.
Also during the Board meeting, which was presided over by President Tracey Weber (Weston), there was discussion and then actions taken on the financial report, the Lunch and Laughs event, a joint ABA/WV Bar Foundation Fellows mentoring program and the ALPS Lawyer Leadership Institute.

On Friday, November 2, the WV Bar Foundation will be honoring WVU Law School Dean Emeritus John W. Fisher, II during the “friendly roast” at the Second “Lunch and Laughs with a Legal Legend” event at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, beginning at 11:30 AM.
The following distinguished entities have already agreed to serve as Sponsors for this excellent endeavor:

In addition, Chesapeake Energy, Judy and Rob Fisher, Phillips, Gardill, Kaiser and Altmeyer Law Office, WesBanco and the Weber Law Office have made contributions and/or purchased tickets for this highly anticipated activity.

Also, impressive contributions have been made recently by two Bar Foundation Fellows-Linda Nelson Garrett (Summersville) and WVU College of Law Professor Vince Cardi (Morgantown). These lawyers’ financial commitment to the Bar Foundation, the philanthropic organization for West Virginia’s legal profession and the justice system, is gratefully acknowledged.
