A Good Time for a Good Cause!

The Bar Foundation’s Grants Committee recently held its meeting to review grant applications in preparation for making recommendations at the quarterly Board of Directors meeting on September 18.

The Bar Foundation began its grants program in 2004 and has distributed nearly a quarter of a million dollars to worthwhile non profit WV organizations that improve the administration of justice and the provision of legal services to our citizens.

More than $230,000 in grants has been provided in just the past 6 years, including student scholarship funds at the WVU College of Law.

The Bar Foundation’s Strategic Planning Committee met at the end of August and considered the necessary future actions for the statewide philanthropic entity for the legal profession and the justce system.

Decisions were made regarding the Investment Fund, Bar Foundation events and progress in the provision of much needed Bar Foundation grants.
