August 31 is the deadline to register for the 8th Lunch and Laughs With A Legal Legend on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, beginning at 11:30 AM, where the honored guest will be WV Supreme Court Senior Status Justice and WVU College of Law Adjunct Lecturer Larry Starcher.
The Master of Ceremonies for this “friendly roast” is the distinguished lawyer, Kitty Dooley (Charleston). Three “roasters” will have the opportunity to tell stories and tales about the Justice—they are WV Supreme Court Chief Justice Margaret Workman, well known and well respected attorney Al Karlin (Morgantown)and retired WV Supreme Court Law Clerk Tom Rodd (Moatsville).
The proceeds from the Lunch will be divided between Justice Starcher’s choices of student legal clinics at the WVU College of Law and the J.R. Clifford Minority Scholarship, as well as for Bar Foundation grants.

JOINT FOUNDATION FELLOWS LUNCHEON
The American Bar Foundation Fellows and the WV Bar Foundation Fellows will hold their joint luncheon meeting in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the WV Bar Association. The joint luncheon is scheduled for 11:30 AM on Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA.
The Bar Foundation Fellows program is modeled after the American Bar Foundation, and almost all ABF Fellows are also Fellows of the WV Bar Foundation. The WV Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved a contribution to the success of the event.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
The Bar Foundation Board of Directors will hold its quarterly meeting on Friday, September 7, at 1:30 PM at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown.
The Board, consisting of three judges and twelve lawyers from all parts of the state and all types of law practice, has its usual full agenda of grantmaking, fiscal, and governance issues for discussion and decision.
