      WV BAR FOUNDATION GRANTS

The mission of the WV Bar Foundation is to improve the administration of justice and the provision of legal services for the state’s citizens.

The Bar Foundation Board of Directors focuses on providing grants to worthwhile non-profit entities in order to meet the mission. Since making its first grant in 2004, over $284,000 has been awarded to 59 grantees, with $270,000 being distributed since June, 2008.

Thousands of our citizens have received justice and legal assistance because of Bar Foundation grants, which have been given in four general categories:

Public Education-$80,884 (24 Grants)  Law Student Scholarships-$119,733 (9 Grants)

Legal Services for Low Income Citizens-$40,634 (6 Grants) Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention-$43,124 (20 Grants)

In addition, financial contributions of more than $50,000 have been made for programs to benefit students at West Virginia University and the WVU College of Law from the proceeds generated during Lunch and Laughs With A Legal Legend events over the past five years.

So, through the generous donations and contributions made to the WV Bar Foundation, more than $330,000 has been provided to assist WV’s men, women and children during their time of need.

        Thank You!
