THANK YOU
The Bar Foundation Board of Directors—a diverse group of two judges and thirteen lawyers from around the state and all types of law practice–has implemented the Justice Fund and wishes to expressly thank several well respected law offices and legal entities which have made generous donations and financial commitments which will dramatically increase the amount of Bar Foundation grants from $25,000 annually to at least $100,000 per year.

In pursuing its mission of improving the administration of justice and the provision of legal services for our state’s citizens, the Bar Foundation has set its top priority as the provision of grants to worthwhile non-profit entities in all parts of the state. The first grant was awarded in 2004 and since that time 44 specific grants have been made with more than $235,000 distributed totally— with 37 grants and distributions worth more than $220,000 occurring just since 2008.

The four general categories of grants have been public education, Law School scholarships, legal services for the poor and child abuse and neglect prevention. After making personal financial commitments themselves, the Board members are requesting tax deductible contributions of $10,000 by law offices and legal organizations to be paid in a lump sum or over a three year period.
