CONGRATULATIONS TO CLAY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL

During its March 2023 Board of Directors meeting, the West Virginia Bar Foundation approved a grant to Clay County High School in the amount of $6,396 to sponsor four students to compete in the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution Competition National Finals in Washington, DC.

During the National Finals students participate in simulated congressional hearings. Students testify as constitutional experts before panels of judges acting as congressional committees scoring the groups through a performance-based assessment.

Pictured above is the student group that travelled in April, with Phillip Dobbins, the group’s teacher. Even though they didn’t bring home a trophy, they shared invaluable experiences that will last a lifetime. Congratulations to Clay County High School!
