BAR FOUNDATION FELLOWS DINNER-JUNE 24
The WV Bar Foundation Board of Directors announces the Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the 4 Points Sheraton Hotel (600 Kanawha Blvd., East, in Charleston)!   This highly anticipated event will honor the judges and lawyers selected for both the 2020 Fellows class and the 2021 Fellows class, since the 2020 Dinner was cancelled at the last moment due to the historic Covid-19 virus pandemic. Social distancing and masking guidelines in effect on June 24 will be followed.   The criteria for Bar Foundation Fellows are those judges and lawyers whose professional, public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and honorable service to the legal profession with the individuals selected reflecting the diverse nature of the legal profession in West Virginia.   There have been approximately 400 lawyers and judges selected as Fellows over the years from the 6,000 judges and lawyers here in WV.   The outstanding individuals, who will be honored on June 24, are:   2020 Fellows class- Barbara Fleischauer-Morgantown Carte Goodwin-Charleston Michele Grinberg-Charleston Anne Harman-Wheeling Karen Kahle-Wheeling Judge H. GENEROUS DONATION
Bar Foundation President Harry G. “Chip” Shaffer, III has made a generous donation to support the mission of improving the administration of justice and the provision of legal services for WV’s citizens.   The tax deductible contribution has been placed in the Bar Foundation’s Justice Fund where the money can only be used for Bar Foundation grants in support of the mission.   Chip is completing his second three year term as a member of the Board of Directors and has provided superb presidential leadership to the Bar Foundation for the past year during the virus pandemic crisis.   A Big Thank You to Chip Shaffer!
DAVID H. DAUGHERTY
The WV Bar Foundation expresses its most sincere condolences and utmost sympathy on the passing of David H. Daugherty (Huntington), on May 9, 2021.   David served as a founding member of the Bar Foundation Board of Directors when it came into existence in 1989. During his illustrious life, he was a leader in high school, college, law school, the armed services and as a lawyer for his clients.   David served as the President of the WV State Bar and provided leadership for a multitude of community and statewide endeavors. He was selected as a member of one of the first classes of Bar Foundation Fellows.   David and his wife, Pat, were always in attendance at gatherings of the legal profession around the state. He was universally recognized for his kindness, his leadership and his commitment to the legal profession and the justice system.   David H. Daugherty-All honor to his name.
