WVJLAP GRANT
          The WV Bar Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the continuation of its multi-year grant to support the important work of the WV Judicial Lawyer Assistance Program. Pictured above is Karen Kahle (Wheeling), a longtime leader and current Secretary of the WVJLAP Board of Directors, making a presentation regarding activities and services available for judges and lawyers when they are experiencing mental, physical and emotional health disorders. (Incidentally, Karen is a member of the 2020 class of Bar Foundation Fellows.) This most recent grant is the fourth of five annual payments which will be used for education presentations and strategic planning sessions, as well as Board of Directors and staff training meetings. The total amount, $25,000, is the largest grant ever made by the Bar Foundation. The Bar Foundation is committed to assisting WVJLAP in its top priority endeavors to help judges, attorneys, bar applicants and law students during their time of need. BAR FOUNDATION BOARD MEETING AND ANNUAL MEETING The Bar Foundation Board of Directors quarterly meeting and the Bar Foundation Annual Meeting will be held by telephone conference call on Thursday, June 4. The Board meeting will begin at 12:00 Noon and will include the Financial Report, review of Bar Foundation programs, consideration of grants and the election of Officers to serve during the 2020-2021 fiscal year. The Annual Meeting will commence at the closure of the Board meeting with consideration of the annual report, the financial condition and the election of Board members to serve three year terms. _________________________________________________
BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATIONS
           The Nominating Committee has proposed the following persons to serve three year terms on the Bar Foundation Board of Directors: Judge Jack Alsop-Webster Springs Dean Greg Bowman-Morgantown Lucien Lewin-Martinsburg David Morrison-Bridgeport The election, including a recommendation from the Nominating Committee to replace Dean Bowman, who recently announced his departure from the College of Law, will occur during the June 4 Annual Meeting.
