POSTPONEMENT
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and its recommendations and restrictions relating to meetings, gatherings, social contacts and personal interactions, the Bar Foundation Board of Directors has postponed the 2020 Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner. The 22nd annual event had been set for Thursday, April 23, at the Charleston Marriott Hotel. It will be re-scheduled for a date in the future based upon the best, safest and most convenient day for all participants. As soon as the date is set, it will be publicized broadly to members of the judiciary and the legal profession.
CANCELLATION
In addition, the Board of Directors has cancelled the Ninth Lawyer Leadership Institute, sponsored by Antero Resources Corporation. This extremely successful leadership training program for younger lawyers was scheduled for May 15-17, 2020, at Stonewall Resort. It has already been re-scheduled for next year with the dates of May 21-23, 2021, at Stonewall Resort and again sponsored by Antero Resources. If you have any questions regarding these events, please contact Tom Tinder at tom@wvbarfoundation.org Thank you for your cooperation.

MEMORIAL DONATIONS
The Bar Foundation Board of Directors wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Rob Fisher, and his wife, Judy, for the generous donations that they recently made to the Bar Foundation in honor and memory of well known and well respected attorney, Nancy Hill (Charleston), who passed away last month. Nancy was a longtime Assistant U.S. Attorney (Southern District, WV), where she served as Chief of the Criminal Division. She graduated from the WVU College of Law and was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Editor of the WV Law Review. Rob is a Bar Foundation Fellow and past Board member. He stated, Nancy “was my Law Review Editor and a very, very, very special person…. her faith in God is beyond reproach and she truly is in a better place.” Nancy’s husband, Ed, is a Bar Foundation Fellow and her brother, Kent Carper, is the current President of the Kanawha Commission. Both are lawyers in Charleston. All honor to her name.
