ANNUAL REPORT
          The Bar Foundation Board of Directors reviewed another successful year of accomplishments during its June 6 meeting. The highlights of the July 1, 2018-June 30, 2019 fiscal year included: * The Bar Foundation grant for the WV Supreme Court Candidates Forum in October, 2018. * A total of $41,000 in Bar Foundation grants to improve the administration of justice and provision of legal services. * The Lunch and Laughs with Senior Status Justice Larry Starcher as the honoree, in September, 2018 (the eight annual events thus far have generated $75,000 for law student scholarships). * The Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner in April, 2019, with the induction of seventeen judges and lawyers attended by 150 persons. * The highly rated Lawyer Leadership Institute in May, 2019, with ten diverse newer lawyers learning leadership skills. * The beneficial involvement of the fifteen Board members in all aspects of governance. * A Letter of Agreement with an anonymous donor relating to the Justice Fund and Bar Foundation grants.
LUNCH AND LAUGHS-KEN GRAY-SEPTEMBER 13 The WV Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors is very pleased to invite members of the judiciary, the legal profession and the general public to attend the 9th Lunch and Laughs With A Legal Legend on Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Erickson Alumni CenTer in Morgantown, beginning at 11:30 AM, where the honored guest will be U. S. Army Judge Advocate General (ret.) and former WVU Vice President Ken Gray. Lunch and Laughs events are not to be missed. Three “roasters” will have the opportunity to tell stories and tales about the General, and they are former WVU President David Hardesty, former WVU College of Law Dean John Fisher and former WVU Foundation Vice President Lyn Dotson, with Charleston Attorney Kitty Dooley serving as the Master of Ceremonies. The proceeds from the Lunch are designated to General Gray’s choice of the Veterans’ Legal Clinic at the WVU College of Law, as well as for Bar Foundation grants. Sponsorships of $2,000 are provided a reserved table with 10 seats. Individual tickets can be purchased for $60. A majority of the amount is tax deductible. FINANCIAL REPORT
          The 2018-19 fiscal year was a very satisfactory financial year for the Bar Foundation, as reported to the Board of Directors during its June meeting. There was a clean financial audit for the 2017-18 fiscal year which was received from the independent auditor with the Board reviewing both the audit and the IRS Form 990, a second accounting firm does the bank reconciliations each month and the Justice Fund contains more than $660,000, plus a $60,000 secured loan agreement.
