The WV Bar Foundation Board of Directors will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, March, 7, beginning at 12:00 Noon. The meeting will be conducted by telephone conference call to increase its efficiency and effectiveness. The normal process is for one Board meeting to be face to face in the fall, held in conjunction with the Lunch and Laughs With A Legal Legend event in Morgantown, and the other three meetings by toll free conference call. The Board agenda includes the Financial Report, the review of recommended actions from Bar Foundation committees and strategic planning updates. Even with their busy schedules, a super majority of Board members actively participate during the quarterly meetings. ___________________________________________________________
In preparation for the Bar Foundation Board of Directors meeting on March 7, various Committees have met and will recommend actions to be reviewed, discussed and acted upon by the Board. The Grants Committee, which has already committed more than $30,000 in Bar Foundation grants this fiscal year for worthwhile endeavors in the state to improve the administration of justice, will recommend another grant for Board approval. The Justice Fund Committee will make proposals to alter the maximum allocation of resources contained in the Justice Fund and make necessary updates to the Bar Foundation Investment Policy. The Nominating Committee will recommend Board members to serve three year terms and for Officers to serve during the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
