The Bar Foundation’s IOLTA Advisory Committee reviews the operation of the program and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors.

IOLTA ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (IOLTA) program is administered by the Bar Foundation in accordance with an Order of the WV Supreme Court, which is Rule 1.15 of the WV Rules of Professional Conduct. The IOLTA Advisory Committe, consisting of representatives from the general public, banks, government officials, the WVU Law School and lawyers, meets quarterly to review the program and make recommendations for action. At its recent meeting, the Committee proposed distributions totally $100,000 to the seven grantees that provide legal services for low income citizens in WV. More than $13 million has been provided in the past nineteen years with WV having one of the smallest percentages in the nation in reductions of IOLTA funding during the current historic period of low interest rates.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors met recently and took action on numerous matters including its satisfactory financial condition, discussions regarding the State Bar Center and the Lawyer Disciplinary Board facility, the important IOLTA program, grant proposals to improve the administration of justice, the Bar Foundation Fellows program, nominations for positions on the Board of Directors and planning for future activities.
