LUNCH AND LAUGHS WITH A LEGAL LEGEND-
On Friday, November 2, 2012, the WV Bar Foundation will host the second “Lunch and Laughs with a Legal Legend” at the Erickson Alumni Center in Morgantown, beginning at 11:30 AM.
This year, the honored guest for this friendly “roast”will be WVU Law School William J. Maier, Jr. Dean Emeritus John W. Fisher, II. Dean Fisher’s designated charitable activity, scholarships for WVU Law School students,
will share the proceeds from the event with Bar Foundation grants to improve the administration of justice in West Virginia.
Providing the humorus stories and funny jokes about Dean Fisher will be former WVU Law School Dean, former WVU President and current President of The Ohio State University, Gordon Gee; WVU Law School Dean Joyce McConnell and WVU President Emeritus and current WVU Law School Professor, David Hardesty. Back by popular demand to serve as the Master of Ceremonies will be former WVU College of Law Professor Jack Bowman.

ABF/BAR FOUNDATION FELLOWS JOINT MEETING-
The American Bar Foundation Fellows and the WV Bar Foundation Fellows will hold a joint meeting during the AB Fellows annual luncheon in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the WV Bar Association at The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. The luncheon is scheduled for 11:30 AM (prompt start) in the Cheasapeake Room on Friday, August 17, 2012. The WV Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors has approved a contribution to the success of the event.
The Bar Foundation Fellows program is modeled after the American Bar Foundation, and almost all ABF Fellows are also Fellows of the WV Bar Foundation. There have been discussions regarding joint activities by the two groups.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING-
The WV Bar Foundation Board of Directors will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, September 6, 2012, at the law offices of Flaherty, Sensabaugh and Bonasso in Charleston. The diverse group of thirteen lawyers and two members of the judiciary will participate in person and by telephone conference call.
The Board agenda includes reports and decisions on finances, strategic planning, grant making, special events, governance and general policies.
