LAST CALL FOR ALPS LAWYER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE

This is the Last Call for registration for the ALPS Lawyer Leadership Institute to be held from Friday afternoon, May 18, until Sunday morning, May 20, at the centrally located Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, WV, just off I-79 near Weston.

West Virginia lawyers, who have been admitted to practice law for ten years or less, are eligible to participate. The cost is only $499 per person, which includes two nights lodging at Stonewall Resort, five meals, and all materials, as well as twelve hours of continuing legal education credits with three hours of legal ethics.

The topics for the outstanding speakers are:

Leadership Traits   Civility Leadership

Organizational Leadership   Ethical Leadership

NEXT EDITION OF BAR BRIEF
The next edition of the Bar Brief will include the promised photo and
information about the very successful Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner that
was held on April 26. The Lawyers Leadership Institute deadline requires
that the Fellows material be pushed back.

In addition, the next issue should include a special update on the status
of the Bar Foundation’s buildings located beside the State Capitol in
Charleston. Final negotiations are ongoing with interested parties to
reach a mutually agreeable result.

 

BAR FOUNDATION ANNUAL MEETING

The West Virginia Bar Foundation and its Board of Directors wish to announce its
Annual Meeting that will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the law offices of Flaherty, Sensabaugh and Bonasso, 200 Capitol Street in Charleston, WV.

The agenda for the meeting includes the reading of the Minutes of the 2011
Annual Meeting, a report on the programs and activities of the Bar Foundation, the financial report, the Nominating Committee report and Other Business. The Nominating Committee report will consist of the election of the following persons to serve three year terms as members of the Board of Directors:               Harry Hatfield-Madison
Richard Bolen-Huntington
Jodie Boylen-Parkersburg
Ken Gray-Morgantown
John Shott-Bluefield
