BAR FOUNDATION GRANT-
Last year, the WV Bar Foundation provided a grant to the Harrison County Child Advocacy Center to continue the Center’s important forensic interview program by paying for cameras and recording equipment to be used in place of a child’s testimony in court proceedings involving incidents of child sexual abuse. According to a recent report from Irene Malfregeot, the Center’s Executive Director–“Over the past year, we have interviewed more than 60 new clients and also continued to provide advocacy and case coordination for more than 100 clients with open cases. We are now able to provide a more effective, coordinated response to the child victims of sexual abuse. We cannot thank the West Virginia Bar Foundation enough for the support and belief in the work we do to seek justice for victimized children and their families.”
