Judge Volk had been the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge for the Southern District for four years after decades of important service as Law Clerk for Federal Court Judges Blaine Michael, John Copenhaver and Charles Haden, all Bar Foundation Fellows. He also taught classes at West Virginia University, where he received his undergraduate and law degrees. In his quoted remarks, Judge Volk stated, “I love this court and to have the opportunity to serve on it for the balance of my life is just a wonderful privilege….”
