LUNCH AND LAUGHS GRANTS
Last September, WV Supreme Court Senior Status Justice Larry Starcher was the honoree at the Lunch and Laughs With A Legal Legend event in Morgantown. The successful “friendly roast” was the eighth annual event with the roastee designating their special charitable activity to receive grants from the Bar Foundation. Justice Starcher selected the student legal clinics at the WVU College of Law and the J. R. Clifford Minority Scholarship for WVU law students. Pictured above during the recent presentation are, from left to right, Justice Starcher, Law School Dean Gregory Bowman, current J. R. Clifford Minority Scholarship recipient Devin Simmons, who is a third year law student, and Law School Professor and Litigation and Advocacy Law Clinic Director, Marjorie McDiarmid. Starcher, Bowman and McDiarmid are Bar Foundation Fellows. The grant amount was $7,830, which brings the total amount generated by the Lunch and Laughs events to $74,465. All funds have been directed to law student scholarships and public education. Congratulations to Justice Starcher for his Lunch and Laughs honor and for his commitment to assisting the students at the WVU College of Law!
