SUPREME COURT CANDIDATES FORUM
On October 25, the WV Women Attorneys organization held a Supreme Court Candidates Forum at the LaBelle Theater in South Charleston. Pictured above are some of the candidates who are running for the two seats on the Court which are on the ballot for the November 6 general election. On the right are WVWA Vice President Beth Kravitz and WVWA Board Member Lia DiTrapano Fairless.
The Bar Foundation Board of Directors was pleased to provide a grant to support this public education event. There are a total of 20 judges and lawyers who are campaigning for these two positions.
Congratulations to the WV Women Attorneys for providing the necessary leadership for this high priority activity!

JUDGE IRENE KEELEY
The WV Bar Foundation expresses its sincere appreciation to U.S. District Court Judge Irene Keeley (Clarksburg) for her generous donation to support the Lunch and Laughs event, honoring Senior Status Justice Larry Starcher, which was held in Morgantown last month.
Judge Keeley was unable to attend the Lunch and Laughs, which is a “friendly roast” of Justice Starcher, but wanted to contribute to the designated charitable activities of the student legal clinics at the WVU College of Law, the J. R. Clifford Minority Scholarship and Bar Foundation grants.
Judge Keeley, who was a past Lunch and Laughs honoree and a past roaster, recently assumed Senior Status after completing 25 years of outstanding leadership and service on the federal bench, including seven years as Chief Judge in the Northern District.
Congratulations to Judge Keeley, a Bar Foundation Fellow, for her extraordinary career as a lawyer and a Federal Court Judge and special gratitude to her for her support and assistance to the Bar Foundation! _______________________ _________________________________________
