FEDERAL COURT CLERK TERRY DEPPNER
On August 25, Terry Deppner retired after 41 years of outstanding service in the Clerk’s Office for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of WV. Pictured above are Chief Judge Robert “Chuck” Chambers and Terry during a ceremony that was held at the Robert C. Byrd Federal Courthouse in Charleston.
During her many years as Clerk, Terry was a national leader in Federal Court administration, technology advances and supporting the federal judiciary. In addition, she and her extremely competent staff members provided valuable guidance and assistance to lawyers, law office personnel and the general public on anything and everything relating to the Federal Courts in the Southern District.
A large crowd of state and federal judges, lawyers, friends and family attended the ceremony. Tributes and candid remarks were made by members of the judiciary, lawyers and staff leaders to commemorate Terry’s superb career of public service.
Congratulations to Terry Deppner for a job very well done!

DEADLINE FOR RESERVATIONS FOR LUNCH AND LAUGHS
The reservation deadline is Monday, September 11, for the Lunch and Laughs event in Morgantown on Friday, September 15.
The honored guest is WVU Provost and former WVU College of Law Dean Joyce McConnell. The MC is Federal Court Judge Irene Keeley. The “friendly roasters” are WVU President Gordon Gee, Attorney Ellen Cappellanti and WVU Law School Professor John Taylor.
The Lunch begins at 11:30 AM and concludes at 1:00 PM.
Free parking is available in the lots right beside the Erickson Alumni Center where the Lunch will be held.
Sponsorships of $2,000 are provided a reserved table with 10 seats. Individual tickets can be purchased for $60. A majority of the amounts are tax deductible.

BAR FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Bar Foundation Board of Directors, consisting of two judges and thirteen lawyers from all parts of the state and all types of law practice, will hold its quarterly meeting on Friday, September 15.
The Board members will consider the financial report, grant applications, plans for the future, the status of the Justice Fund and other governance and policy matters.
