BAR FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS-

The WV Bar Foundation Board of Directors held its quarterly meeting on Thursday, March 3, with active participation by a vast majority of the three judges and twelve lawyers from all parts of the state and all types of law practice, who serve as Board members.

The Board reviewed the good condition of its finances and the status of the Justice Fund, which is a major source of revenue for Bar Foundation grants. There was discussion regarding the two upcoming important events–the Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner on April 28, and the Lawyer Leadership Institute on May 13-15, as well as plans being made for the Lunch and Laughs With a Legal Legend on September 9, in Morgantown.

A significant Bar Foundation grant was awarded to the WV Child Advocacy Network for two summits on child abuse and neglect prevention with participation by judges, prosecuting attorneys and other court officials.

Finally, the Nominating Committee report was made for persons to serve three year terms on the Board beginning in June, 2016, and for Officers to serve for 2016-17. The elections will occur on June 3, during the Board meeting and the Annual Meeting.
