FELLOWSBAR FOUNDATION FELLOWS-
The WV Bar Foundation Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the outstanding members of the 18th class of Bar Foundation Fellows.

The criteria for the Fellows is “those judges and lawyers whose professional, public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and honorable service to the legal profession with the individuals selected reflecting the diverse nature of the legal profession in West Virginia.”

Since 1999, the Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors has selected just more than 300 lawyers and judges to be Fellows from the more than 5,000 WV lawyers and judges.             The Annual Reception and Dinner to honor the 2016 class will be held on Thursday, April 28, at the Marriott Hotel in Charleston. The well attended event (black tie optional) begins at 6:00 PM and the cost is $150 per person or $1,500 for a table of ten persons.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS-

The Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, March 3, beginning at 12:00 Noon, by telephone conference call.

President Ancil Ramey (Huntington) will preside at the meeting which includes the agenda items of the Financial Report, recommendations from the Grants Committee, the report from the Nominating Committee and decisions regarding the 2016 Lawyer Leadership Institute and the 2016 Lunch and Laughs With a Legal Legend events.

The volunteer Board members are three judges and twelve lawyers from all parts of the state and all types of law practice.

 

 

NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BAR FOUNDATIONS-

The National Conference of Bar Foundations held its semi-annual meeting during the first week of February in conjunction with the American Bar Association’s Mid-year meeting.

Representatives from city, county, state and national bar foundations from around the country were in attendance. During the well attended sessions, there were presentations and discussions on important matters, such as the future of the legal profession, board governance, diversity, telling the philanthropic story and the next generation of philanthropic leaders.
