PUBLIC SERVICE SCHOLARSHIP
The WV Bar Foundation’s Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the recipient of its annual Public Service Scholarship–Stephanie Mascella, a second year student at the WVU College of Law. The scholarship is paid from contributions/donations made to the Bar Foundation and provides tuition and fees for the entire academic year.
Stephanie is from Shinnston, WV and earned her undergraduate degree in social work from WVU in 2010. She currently has a dual major as she is working on a joint JD/MBA degree. Among her activities, she is an Associate Editor of the Law Review and worked as a PIA Fellow last summer at WV Legal Aid.
As she stated in a personal note to the Board members, “I am interested in pursuing a career in Public Interest. This scholarship has lightened my financial burden significantly. It is life changing and my family and I appreciate it.”
Congratulations to Stephanie Mascella!

BAR FOUNDATION COMMITTEES
In the past couple weeks, two Bar Foundation committees held meetings to continue achieving the mission of improving the administration of justice and the provision of legal services for the state’s citizens.
The Strategic Planning Committee reviewed the very successful Lunch and Laughs with a Legal Legend event in September and made plans for the 2014 Lunch, considered the details for the 25th Anniversary/Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner on April 24, 2014, and received updates on the Lawyer Leadership Institute in May, 2014 and a joint mentoring program with the ABA Foundation Fellows and the American Inns of Court.
The Audit Committee held an extensive meeting with the Independent Auditors. Herman and Cormany, CPAs, to go over the 2012-13 financial report and the IRS Form 990. The Board of Directors will receive these reports and other Committee recommendations during its quarterly meeting on December 5.
